Find out why benchmarking the performance and impact of your business incubator or accelerator is more critical to success than ever

One of the core assumptions of a benchmark is that most of the components of the analysis remain constant for comparison’s sake. As the Triumph of Innovation study uncovered, however, innovation during the pandemic grew and, in many cases, outperformed pre-pandemic metrics in several key areas. The World Benchmark Study 2021-2022 is extremely important to business incubators and accelerators post-pandemic, join us as we explain why.

Performance monitoring is now more important than ever

Whether you have participated in previous editions of the World Benchmark Study or not, examining impact and performance data helps your business incubator or accelerator stay on top of the latest trends and serves as a monitoring tool for future benchmarks. By participating in the World Benchmark Study 2021-2022, you will gain a deeper understanding of which metrics have changed the most post-pandemic and where there are opportunities for improvement. This is UBI Global’s sixth edition of the World Benchmark Study for 2021-2022, and it will be even more valuable to past participants while providing newbie benchmarkers the chance to shine among their peers.

Learn new segments of importance for startups

As the Triumph of Innovation report highlighted, business incubators and accelerators developed a technology-focused business model to meet the needs of their enrolled startup companies during the pandemic. These shifts included everything from online events, digital enrollment, virtual support attraction, and new sustainability initiatives, to name a few. Participating in the World Benchmark Study 2021-2022 will help support business incubators and accelerators to understand their program’s post-pandemic recovery as they learn new best practices and important information to develop today’s most successful startups.

Highlight your importance

As a result of the pandemic, there has been an explosion of new startup companies. These young companies are developing mind-blowing new technology and innovation to meet new challenges faced by almost every industry in every country in the world. Along with this increase in new startup companies came a new generation of support programs, whether it was working space, laboratory facilities, funding, or fast-tracked corporate scaleup initiatives. As a result, it is essential to analyze the changes in business incubators and accelerators post-pandemic to examine how their dynamic has changed. Business incubators and accelerators provide critical support that is shown to reduce the failure rate of startup companies, and the World Benchmark Study 2021-2022 demonstrates the impact and performance of the participating programs on global entrepreneurship efforts.

Look ahead, stay ahead

As a business incubator or accelerator, your effectiveness in gauging industry recovery will become next-level when you participate in the World Benchmark Study 2021-2022. The benchmark process gives you a clear understanding of your program’s actual impact and performance post-pandemic. The data you provide for the World Benchmark Study 2021-2022 will tell a future-forward story that your business incubator or accelerator will refer to when conducting planning sessions on budgets, enrollment, onboarding, service map strategies, and more.

Smarter together

Business incubators and accelerators have a mission to support entrepreneurs, and as a global force for innovation, they have triumphed over a global pandemic by increasing performance. In times of crisis, business incubators and accelerators have proven to be sustainable resources for entrepreneurs, themselves, and the wider community of innovation. The World Benchmark Study 2021-2022, which will lead to the release of the World Rankings 2021-2022, and culminate with the World Incubation Summit serves to bring our community together to connect, benchmark, learn and recognize excellence to advance startup and innovation growth worldwide.
